How to moisturize dry hair and avoid the frizz

Advices for damaged, dry natural or relaxed hair.

Some girls have been asking me to write about how to moisturize the hair and avoid frizz. I always tell you about my own experience and products that have worked for me, hoping these work for you too.

My hair is and has been always super dry, especially now when I have been transitioning from relaxed to natural for about 7 months, the texture of my hair demands everyday moisture. The moisturizing process starts from inside. What I mean is, that you have to put attention what you eat, you have to drink a lot of water, green juices, because from that you get a lot of vitamins and minerals that would be distributed throughout your whole body and hair, you will have amazing results.

I used to be that kind of person who doesn’t like to drink so much water and I have changed my routine, my nutrition and now my hair is receiving more vitamins than before and frizz has decreased; is good you know that your hair doesn´t cease to be dry, but will improve a lot and if you work with that you will avoid undesirable frizz.

 

Here I have a list of advices for damaged, dry natural or relaxed hair

 

1-Your best friends would be water and natural oils, how to use it? before the wash saturate the hair with a lot of oil, it does not matter what oil, then wash as usual, when your hair is already washed apply a few drops of your favorite oil, in my case I use: Jojoba, coconut, almond oil, castor oil or argan oil. My friends always say, girl! you have all kind of oils at home; I just loved them and use them for so many things.

2-Another way to do it, is to mix your favorite hair conditioner with the oil of your preference, let it work in your hair for a couple of hours or overnight, then wash as usual in the morning.

3-Who said is it always necessary to wash your hair with shampoo? something that works for me and help me to retain moisture is to wash my hair with shampoo just sometimes according how my hair feels, for example during the winter is easy for me just to wash with my conditioner, you will implemented according the weather and the needs of your hair. What I do is to apply my conditioner for some time, then I wash my hair just with the conditioner, you will feel your hair clean and moisturized.

4-Avoid heat and let your hair air dry.

6- Vegetable glycerin mix with your conditioners or your leave-in.

7-Another thing that my hair loves is the mix with Shea butter and coconut oil, is so good for my hair you can use that to deep conditioning or to style your hair.

8- If you want to moisturize your hair while you sleep, a good way to do it is to apply your oil of preference during the night and let it work during the whole night; let’s use the heat our body produce during sleep.

9-Eggs, honey, mayonnaise and olive oil, super good and repair the damaged hair.

10-If you don’t have at home any oil and you feel your hair dry, spray your hair with water according your type of hair and needs and depends how your hair assimilate it, our hair is like a flower that needs water and sometimes our scalp is thirsty.
